Swan Song

They want to change my size
firm my bosom, trim my thighs.
They want to suck my cellulite,
make my stomach flat and tight,
lift my fanny, tuck my chin,
carve me up to make me thin.
I say “Rubbish!” to all that!
Where’s the crime in being fat?Venus wore her width quite well;
it is long past time to quell the
vain designers, diet quacks, starving models, all those hacks who
make a living out of leaving
bad impressions in the mind of
every woman, smart or dumb,
who sports an ample-sized behind.
Let’s hear cheers for Queen Latifah, Emme,
Kathy Bates and Tyne:
here’s to bounteous beauties everywhere—
real women—lookin’ fine!
